Cosmetics 27 was founded by Michèle Evrard, a Belgian-trained pharmacologist with over two decades in the fragrance and cosmetics industry. The brand didn't start with a marketing brief. It started with a personal problem.
After a series of knee surgeries left Michèle with a significant scar, she began researching Centella Asiatica, a medicinal plant used in Ayurvedic and Southeast Asian medicine for over 3,000 years. What she discovered in those healing properties became the foundation of everything Cosmetics 27 is built on. Baume 27, the brand's first and still most iconic product, was formulated over two years and launched in 2009 as a single product with no commercial ambitions. It sold out immediately.

These three compounds work together to stimulate the regeneration of key skin proteins, including Collagen III for elasticity, Collagen XVII and Keratin 14 for barrier integrity and stem cell regeneration, and to protect against oxidative stress that accelerates cellular aging.
Clinical testing on the Baume 27 Advanced Formula showed a 100% increase in Collagen III, a 58% increase in Collagen XVII, and a 54% increase in Keratin 14 with consistent daily use. Those are meaningful numbers, not marketing copy.
